I am Glenn R. Redmond and for the past thirty-two years have been serving the Lord’s church as an Evangelist in Georgia, Arizona, Texas, Nebraska and Kentucky. On the 30th of June of 2011, I resigned my position working with the Versailles church of Christ in Kentucky and moved to Phoenix to support my wife in her desire to provide care for her semi-invalid mother. My wife, the oldest of seven children, believed she needed to move to Arizona and serve her mother and moved in March of 2011 and I completed my obligation to the congregation in Versailles and joined her in June of 2011. Because of the nature of her problems, considerable lifting was involved and I agreed to step out of full time ministry and not seek any type of employment in Arizona to provide the “lifting” aspect of the care her mom needed. My wife was unable to provide this type of care. We obligated ourselves to move to Arizona and care for her mother as long as necessary; either she would need more care than we could provide and have to be placed in a nursing care facility or until she died. Unexpectedly, she died on February 17th.
After moving to Phoenix we also began to provide some care and services to my wife’s aunt, her mother’s older sister, a widow who is 88 years-old and was living alone in her condo in Sun City, Arizona. This aunt had a heart attack in July, shortly after I arrived in Arizona and I began keeping up with her medications and taking her to her doctor’s appointments. On December 16, 2011, her condo burned and she lost everything and moved in with us in my wife’s mother’s home. She is still living with us and we are committed to remaining in Arizona at least until her condo is rebuilt, sometime around the end of April, first of June, and getting her settled before leaving Arizona.
It is my goal to return to the work of the ministry and our choice would be somewhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as our only child, our son and his wife, along with our two wonderful grandsons live in Dallas. If you are a congregation that believes that the work of the church is to do the work of Christ on earth; believes that Jesus is the answer for the problems of men today and loves to hear His story preached and taught; and would like a man who believes in prayer and the power of prayer but is still working to get it all together but has a lot of experience in trying, I would be interested in talking with you about your work.

First and foremost I am a Christian. I believe that Christ is the Son of God and that He died for my sins. I have followed the steps that lead to salvation, and I have striven to live the life that Christ expects me to live. It is because of this life that I feel the need to tell others about it. To share the Gospel of Christ is one of my greatest passions and I strive to do the best at this that I possibly can.
The reason I am posting this ad is because I am interested in working with a faithful congregation of the Lord's Body. I will graduate from the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver Colorado in December 2011. There I am in the process of being trained for two years, and there I will receive my Bachelor’s degree in Theology. At this school I am being trained how to be the most effective communicator possible. As a student, I am learning the essentials of studying and presenting the Gospel in a way that people can understand it and learn application from it.

Core Beliefs:
The reason for this section of my ad is to let all who read this know up front what I believe the Bible says about certain “hot issues” that are facing the church today. I believe that getting this information out at the front can make things go easier in the future. Please look over my answers on the following issues and contact me with any questions that you may have.
Marriage Divorce and Remarriage: According to Matthew 19:9 the only reason for scriptural remarriage after a divorce is if the divorce was for fornication. Jesus said that the person that is the innocent party is free to remarry. The person that is guilty is not allowed to be remarried. If two people get divorced for any other reason than fornication neither one of the people is allowed to remarry.
Women’s Role: As Paul said in 2 Timothy chapter two women are to remain silent in the assembly. This does not mean that they have to be completely silent. They can sing as commanded elsewhere in the Bible. This does mean that they can in no way exercise authority over a man. They are not permitted to pray in the assembly, nor are they permitted to preach or perform any other duty that places them in authority over men.
Elder’s Role in Relation to Minister: The minister is under the oversight of the eldership just like any other member of a congregation.
Musical Instruments/Hand Clapping: When Paul commanded the early Christians to sing he negated any other form of music. Therefore instrumental music is wrong. The instrument that God intended for man to use in worship to Him is the heart. The command to sing also excludes the clapping of hands. This is an addition to the worship. It is the same as using a percussion instrument.
